- Any other aspect not covered may be resolved by the Editorial Committee. Likewise, it is recommended to consult the Editorial and Linguistic Policy of the journal.
- Quotations
- The journal follows the APA (American Psychological Association) standards updated in the 7th edition, although it also adopts its own specific criteria.
- Bibliographic and source quotations within the text are placed in quotation marks without italics, specifying the source (author, year and page). If the quoted section has 40 words or less, it is transcribed within the paragraph. When the quoted section has more than 40 words, it is placed in a separate paragraph, without quotation marks, separated from the text by a blank line, with a special margin of 1.5 cm indented on the right. At the end of the quote, a period is placed and then the author, year and page data are mentioned in parentheses, without a period after the reference.
- Within a quote, three ellipses are used without putting them in parentheses to indicate that part of the original sentence has been omitted. If entire sentences are omitted from the original source the deletion is indicated with four ellipses without using parentheses. Ellipses are not used at the beginning or end of a quote, even if material has been omitted. Use brackets (not parentheses) to include additions or explanations from the author of the paper. If there are words written incorrectly, in bold, in capital letters, etc., the word [sic] must be entered next to it in brackets or a footnote must be made to indicate that it appears that way in the original.
- When quoting texts by more than two authors et al. should be used (e.g. Vergara et al.) and if quoting several works they should be ordered alphabetically, separated by a semicolon (e.g. Alvarez, 2020; Céspedes, 2019; Fulner, 2013; Orozco, 2024).
- Bibliographic references
- The journal follows the APA (American Psychological Association) standards updated in the 7th edition. Memorias Disidentes has made some adaptations, such as: the first name of each author is included to adapt these standards to the inclusive language policies of the journal.
- Bibliographic references with complete data of the texts and other cited sources are placed at the end of the text of the paper, and not at the bottom of the page.
- The list must contain only the works cited in the body of the paper.
- The order to follow is in alphabetical order by last name of the author and chronological order of the cited work.
- If more than one work by the same author is included, the chronological order of edition is respected —from the oldest text to the most recent—.
- The last name and full name are mentioned in lowercase. If there is more than one person responsible for the authorship, all the first and last names are listed.
- Titles of chapters, journals, and papers are italicized as appropriate according to APA Standards 7th edition, and should not be in quotation marks.
- If the papers, book chapters, audios, videos, images, and even software cited in the paper have a link with a persistent identifier assigned, that is, a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) or ARK (Archival Resource Key) number, this must be included at the end of the bibliographic reference data. E.g. Molinares-Hassan, Viridiana and Orozco-Arcieri, Carlos Andrés (2020). Memoria colectiva, derecho al olvido y comisiones: análisis de experiencias comparadas. Jurídicas, 17 (2), 72–89.
https://doi.org/10.17151/jurid.2020.17.2.4
- All journal papers or books that are available in free format should preferably have the link at the end of the reference. E.g. Crespo, Carolina (2020). Hacer
desde los fragmentos. Desplazamientos conceptuales y de sentido sobre las colecciones de expresiones, espacios y ancestros indígenas. In Ana Margarita Ramos and Mariela Eva Rodríguez (Eds.), Memorias fragmentadas en contexto de lucha. Teseo. https://www.teseopress.com/memoriasfragmentadas/chapter/hacerse-desde-los-fragmentos-desplazamientos-conceptuales-y/
- Websites, podcasts, YouTube videos, Facebook pages, manuscripts, law quotes, etc. follow the citation and reference style recommended in APA 7th edition standards, this means that they should not go as a footnote, but are introduced as entries in the bibliographical references and are cited in the body of the text. E.g. Solari Paz, Ana Cecilia (March 17, 2021). Amorales en dictadura. Potencia Tortillera. http://potenciatortillera.blogspot.com/2021/03/ana-cecilia-solari-paz-amorales-en.html
