Author Biography

Valentina Stella, National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), Institute for Research on Cultural Diversity and Processes of Change (IIDyPCa), National University of Río Negro (UNRN)

She is a professor of Anthropological Sciences in secondary and higher education, with a degree in Anthropology with a Sociocultural focus and a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Buenos Aires, Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. She works as an assistant researcher for the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), working at the Institute for Research on Cultural Diversity and Processes of Change (IIDyPCa) at the CONICET Patagonia Norte campus of the National University of Rio Negro, Andina campus. She teaches undergraduate programs in Anthropological Sciences and the Secondary and Higher Education Teaching Program in Anthropology at the same university. She has taught undergraduate and graduate seminars at various national universities and has directed research projects belonging to the Fund for Scientific and Technological Research, the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Promotion, and the National Research Agency. She is a member of the Study Group on Altered and Subordinated Memories (GEMAS) and the Information and Discussion Network on Archaeology and Heritage (RIDAP). Her work focuses on the reconstruction of Mapuche-Tehuelche memories and interpretive frameworks to understand the local ways in which ideas of people, territory, relationality, and ancestry are interwoven.
